1851 - Lee, Alfred Bishop (1807 - 1887). A Letter to the Clergy and Laity of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Delaware, by Alfred Lee, Bishop of the Diocese of Delaware. Wilmington, Del.: Steam Power Press of Evans & Vernon. 1851. 8vo. 41pp. Original sand color printed paper wraps lightly rubbed with minor close tears to spine. Inscription in pencil to verso of title reads : "1852 March 9 gift of the Author Wilmington Delaware". Bishop Lee's father, Captain Benjamin Lee (1765 - 1828) English naval officer and colleague of Lord Nelson and the Duke of Clarence, narrowly escaped death after being found guilty of insubordination and subsequently emigrated to the United States. Bishop Lee's son, Dr. Benjamin Lee (b. 1833) was a respected orthopedic surgeon. An excellent copy, Fine or close to it. $65
